Print methods
Digital colour printing
Colour is digitally printed with a high quality laser printer in a wide choice of colours, either as single colour print or full colour. With this method we can personalise guest names on many pieces of stationery. Digital printing is the most cost effective and economical option, and has the quickest turnaround.
White ink printing
We also print white digitally which gives stunning results, particularly on darker card and other materials such as vellum. As white is printed digitally we can offer personalisation on all pieces of stationery, and larger format pieces such as welcome signs and boards.
Hot foil
Hot foil printing (also called hot foil blocking or stamping) gives a luxurious finish as a print method, and is most commonly associated with the use of metallic foils. The design is imprinted onto card using metal plates by a combination of heat and pressure using our traditional foil press. The foil is available in a huge spectrum of colours (not only metallics) and is slightly more expensive than digital printing. We recommend a minimum order quantity for hot foil printing due to the requirement for custom metal plates to be made before we can press/imprint.
Blind embossing
A highly tactile and chic print method, blind embossing is where certain parts of the text are imprinted leaving a raised impression without any ink. We recommend that blind embossing is used to accent certain parts of the design only, with the rest digitally printed. As embossing requires the set up of custom plates, it is recommended for larger orders. It is not possible to personalise individual names of guests with blind embossing, as it would require multiple plate set up and increase costs dramatically.
